September is NICU Awareness Month, a time to recognize those families who find their babies in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) due to preterm birth, birth defects, surgical or genetic conditions, or other diagnosis. This time can be stressful and overwhelming for families. That is why our dedicated NICU nurses and staff are here to make all the difference through our NICU Family Support® program, made possible with support from March of Dimes.
The program partners to provide families the support and education they need, right when they need it during the NICU stay and transition home. Additionally, there are a variety of additional resources like online articles, online communities, and the My NICU Baby® App (Mi Bebé en la NICU App), which provides answers to common NICU questions and interactive tracking tools, checklists, videos in English and Spanish.
