Pediatric Trauma Service
Stony Brook is the only Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center in Suffolk County, caring for the most severe emergencies. The doctors in our dedicated pediatric emergency medicine division are available 24/7 to provide the most advanced pediatric emergency care.
Care for Complex Conditions
With services including a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), pediatric intensive care unit (PICU), pediatric cardiology and pediatric anesthesiology, we’re able to provide children with uninterrupted care in their own community.

Our Child Life Program helps to minimize the stress that pediatric patients and their families may experience when faced with illness, medical procedures and unfamiliar surroundings.
Pre-Surgical Tours
Prepare for an upcoming surgery with a pre-surgical tour. The tour gives patients and families a chance to see and know what to expect.
Injury Prevention
To help keep kids safe and out of the emergency room, we take part in Stony Brook's special efforts to educate the community with free programs on injury prevention.
