Patient Resources

Research and Education

The Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery is committed to fulfilling Stony Brook’s mission of excellence in research, and to advancing scientific knowledge to improve patient care and population health. Residents have the opportunity to learn current approaches and techniques in plastic and reconstructive surgery, including both conventional surgical approaches and microsurgical techniques

Additionally, our team of surgeons provides training for plastic surgery residents at Stony Brook Medicine as an affiliated institution of the integrated six-year residency program of the Long Island Plastic Surgical Group (LIPSG) based at NuHealth (Nassau University Medical Center or NUMC) in East Meadow, NY. Since its inception, the NuHealth residency program has trained hundreds of residents and has seen many of them grow into some of the most respected and skilled plastic surgeons in the nation.
