All of our plastic surgeons are specialty and fellowship trained in plastic and reconstructive surgery and have years of experience in the highly specialized field of plastic surgery and related services.
Services
Stony Brook offers pediatric plastic surgery in both inpatient and outpatient settings. We perform a wide array of procedures for infants, children and adolescents.

Stony Brook Orthopedics University Hand Center provides hand rehabilitation services and specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of hand, wrist, forearm, elbow, and shoulder injuries and diseases. The Hand Center provides comprehensive care for a range of conditions that include: carpal tunnel syndrome; children's hand problems; Dequervain's tendonitis; Dupuytren's disease; elbow pain; fractures of the hand, wrist, and arm; hand tumors/cysts; nerve injuries; osteoarthritis; repetitive stress injuries; tennis elbow; trigger finger; and wrist problems.
Stony Brook Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Center offers specialized care at Stony Brook Children's Hospital for children of all ages born with cleft lip/palate abnormalities affecting the head and face. One child in approximately 700 is born with a facial cleft. Although most children come to us as newborns, we provide care for children of all ages born with cleft lip/palate and other craniofacial defects. These children and their families are best cared for by a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to ensure that the physical and emotional needs of the child and family are met.

Research and Education
The Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery is committed to fulfilling Stony Brook’s mission of excellence in research, and to advancing scientific knowledge to improve patient care and population health. Residents have the opportunity to learn current approaches and techniques in plastic and reconstructive surgery, including both conventional surgical approaches and microsurgical techniques
Additionally, our team of surgeons provides training for plastic surgery residents at Stony Brook Medicine as an affiliated institution of the integrated six-year residency program of the Long Island Plastic Surgical Group (LIPSG) based at NuHealth (Nassau University Medical Center or NUMC) in East Meadow, NY. Since its inception, the NuHealth residency program has trained hundreds of residents and has seen many of them grow into some of the most respected and skilled plastic surgeons in the nation.
