Stony Brook Medicine has taken a leading role in educating the community about asthma and works closely with the American Lung Association of Long Island and the New York State Children's Asthma Initive. Stony Brook is also an active member of the Greater New York Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, and participates in education, fundraising and special events, including the Great Strides annual walk.
